Two players, one race

2 Player Rubik's Cube

Grab a second person, share a link, and race a real 2-player Rubik's Cube — you versus them.

Free · No signup · WCA scrambles · Plays on your phone

Some games are more fun with two, and this is one of them. CubeArena turns the Rubik's Cube into a two-player game: you and one other person each get your own real 3D cube, the exact same scramble, and a synced 3-2-1 countdown — then you both race to solve first. It runs in the browser on any phone or laptop, so you can be on the same couch or on opposite sides of the world and still play the same round together. No accounts, no app, nothing to download — open a link and you're both in.

To be clear, these are real cubes you turn with your own hands, not a solver watching a computer do the work. On a phone you drag across the faces to twist them; on a desktop you use keyboard turns. Whoever untangles their cube first wins the round, and the server — not either player — times both solves and calls it, so a close 2-player match is settled fairly. Win and you get a shareable result card to send back to the person you just beat, then it's one tap to rematch.

Getting the second player in takes seconds: read them a 6-character code or send a link, and they join with no signup of their own — great for handing your phone to the person next to you or texting a partner across the room. If nobody's around, tap to match a random opponent instead, or warm up against the practice bot. Every scramble is genuine WCA random-state from the same generator (cubing.js) csTimer uses, so two friends messing around and two serious cubers get the exact same legitimate puzzle. It's 3x3 only, and completely free.

How it works

  1. Open the cube and pull in player two
Load CubeArena in any browser — no signup, no download. Send your second player a link or a 6-character code, or tap to match a random opponent.
  2. Both get the same scramble and countdown
You and your opponent see the exact same WCA random-state scramble and a synced 3-2-1 countdown, so the race starts fair and at the same instant.
  3. Race to solve — fastest wins
Twist your real 3D cube (drag on phone, keys on desktop) and solve it first. The server times both solves and decides the winner, then hit rematch to run it back.

Questions

Is there a 2 player Rubik's Cube game online?

Yes. CubeArena is a free 2-player Rubik's Cube game that runs in your browser with no signup and no download. You and one other person each get a real 3D cube, the same scramble, and a synced countdown, then race to solve first — the server times both solves and picks the winner.

How do two people play the same cube round?

Both players get the exact same WCA random-state scramble and a synced 3-2-1 countdown. One player opens CubeArena and sends the other a link or a 6-character code to join; no signup is needed for the second player. You each solve your own real 3D cube and whoever finishes first wins.

Do I need a second person to play?

No. If you don't have a second player, you can tap to match a random opponent online instead, or play against a practice bot while the queue fills. But the game is built for two — invite someone by link or code and you're both racing the same scramble in seconds.

Is it a real cube or just a solver?

It's a real, interactive 3D Rubik's Cube that both players solve by hand — not a solver, tutorial, or auto-simulator. You twist the faces yourself (drag on phone, keyboard turns on desktop). It's 3x3 only and uses genuine WCA random-state scrambles, the same kind serious speedcubers train on.
